This series of videos is only for the experimental geeks out there. Watch out as they can cause epileptic attacks. (yes they caused real epileptic damage in a cinema once)
There’s a little description and a funny story that goes along with this series.
This is a collection of 3 short films, Warhoofd - Dreamyhead // Ruishoofd - Noisehead // Regenhoofd - Rainhead, initally there were actually 4 but the one and only copy of the film got stolen in an exhibition in Prague while the movie was in exhibition, so there must be a private owner somewhere with the 4th film which is Waashoofd - Blurryhead (an actual self portrait of Vinco Zierowan in this series still carried out by his previous identity Vincent Pieraerd.
In every videochapter of the series of “the 3 heads” Vinco tried to represent not only the people’s physical but also emotional state of being. The person in the first video, Dreamyhead (Gabriela Gazova was actually dreaming while the movie was being shot), the second video Noisehead (Joachim Liebens was performing on the sounds of noise and was at that time confused and indecisive) the last one Rainhead (Elise Pieraerd) told Vinco she was feeling as if it was raining in her head, she described a state of depression. With the fourth self portrait of the last head, Vinco decided to film his own head as he was in a state of transition and solitude with his move from Belgium to Czech republic and described that time as blurry and vague, not knowing where to go, being alienated from home in another country, fortunately times changed and maybe that’s why it got stolen in the midst of the exhibition.
